Pennsylvania native Amanda Seyfried started her career modeling at the young age of 11, appearing on the cover of three Francine Pascal books. She landed her first contract role as Lucinda Marie ‘Lucy’ Montgomery on “As the World Turns” in 2000. She appeared in her second contract role as Joni Stafford on “All My Children” in 2002.

It wasn’t until she costarred along side Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams in “Mean Girls” that her career started to boom. She plays Karen Smith, a ditzy but beautiful and popular girl in school who’s classified as “one of the dumbest people you will ever meet.”

Seyfried also had a recurring role as Lilly Kane on the critically-acclaimed UPN series “Veronica Mars,” playing Veronica’s best friend who was mysteriously killed at the beginning of the series.

She can also be seen in the independent films “Nine Lives” (alongside Glenn Close, Holly Hunter and Sissy Spacek), “American Gun,” where she stars opposite Donald Sutherland, Forest Whitaker and Marcia Gay Harden, and the film “Alpha Dogs,” A Nick Cassavetes project about a kidnapping that takes place over a drug debt. Amanda plays the role of Julie with costars Justin Timberlake, Sharon Stone and Emile Hirsh. [Biography thanks to HBO]
